HooksView (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is an unofficial third-party mobile application that provides a companion interface for viewing Hookdeck webhook events. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Hookdeck Inc.
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application.
Information We Collect
API Credentials
To use HooksView, you must provide your Hookdeck API key. This key is:
- -Stored locally and securely on your device using your device's secure storage mechanisms
- -Used solely to authenticate requests to the Hookdeck API on your behalf
- -Never transmitted to our servers or any third party except Hookdeck
- -Never shared, sold, or used for any purpose other than accessing your Hookdeck data
Usage Data
We may collect basic analytics data to improve the app, including:
- -App crashes and error reports
- -Device type and operating system version
- -General usage patterns (screens viewed, features used)
This data is anonymized and does not include your API key or any webhook data.
How We Use Your Information
Your Hookdeck API key is used exclusively to:
- -Authenticate requests to the Hookdeck API
- -Retrieve and display your webhook events and related data
- -Enable features like event retry, bulk retry, and data inspection
We do not process, store, or cache any of your webhook data on external servers. All data is fetched directly from Hookdeck and displayed in the app.
Data Security
- -API keys are stored using your device's secure storage (Keychain on iOS, Keystore on Android)
- -All connections to the Hookdeck API use HTTPS encryption
- -No data is stored on external servers
- -No third-party analytics services have access to your credentials
Third-Party Services
HooksView connects directly to the Hookdeck API using your credentials. Your use of Hookdeck is governed by Hookdeck's own privacy policy. We are not responsible for Hookdeck's privacy practices or data handling.
Your Rights
- -Delete your API key from the app at any time through the settings menu
- -Uninstall the app, which will remove all locally stored data
- -Revoke the API key through your Hookdeck account settings
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date.
