Relay is a developer tool for iOS that captures and inspects the HTTP and HTTPS requests apps on your device make. Because it handles network traffic, it is built to keep that traffic on your device. Relay collects nothing.
Information We Collect
None. Relay does not send any personal information or captured traffic to us or to anyone else. The app requires no account and no sign-in.
How Capture Works
When you start capturing, Relay turns on a local VPN configuration on your device. It routes web traffic through a proxy that runs inside Relay on the device itself. Requests still go directly to the servers your apps were contacting. Relay does not route your traffic through our servers or any third-party service.
Captured Data
The requests Relay captures, including URLs, headers, and request and response bodies, are stored only in the app's storage on your device. This data can include sensitive information such as sign-in tokens or personal details that your apps send. Relay keeps the most recent 5,000 requests. You can delete everything at any time from Setup, and uninstalling the app removes it permanently. Captured data leaves your device only if you choose to share it yourself, for example by copying a request or exporting a HAR file.
The Relay Certificate
To decrypt HTTPS, Relay creates a certificate on your device the first time you open it. Its private key is stored in your device's keychain and never leaves the device. Installing and trusting the certificate is optional and entirely up to you, and you can remove it at any time in Settings under General > VPN & Device Management.
No Analytics or Tracking
We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or crash reporting services. Nothing in the app phones home.
Children's Privacy
Relay does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13.
